Something about wow and items

I thought it was about time i wrote something about World of Warcraft again since it has been a while. Now the first problem is, i don’t know what to write about, the second, i don’t play very much now except for raids so i really don’t have anything to write about but i will try anyways.
One thing is that the itemization team on average seems to be one patch behind the class designers, items for many classes looks perfect except for the fact that the classes have been changed so the items looks perfect from a “last patch” point of view. It’s not fun looking at the drops in a new raid and realise that most of the items that you really want are of a different armor class then the one your class uses. For holy paladins a large part of BiS items are mail, for Resto shamans lots of plate/cloth times have BiS stats. Disc priests have a lot of BiS items with hitrating that still is a lot better for them then any item made for healing. Read More »

Atlantica Online

I have lately been trying Atlantica Online a bit in between raids in wow, it’s a fun game and not bad-looking for a f2p game. The turn and squad based combat makes it a nice break from the usual mmo battles. Controlling a group of 2-9 characters in combat and up to 27 characters if in group with 2 other players makes the combat more strategic than average mmo combat since you must have the right setup, formation and skill set for your group to work.
While there really isn’t much to customise in the beginning. You get one extra slot in your group every 10 levels untill level 50 when you can have 9 members in your group. This combined with the fact that there is some classes to choose from both for your main and your mercenaries and different skills to focus on for each class makes for lots of customisation later in the game. So far the only thing that is annoying is the travel time for some quests but that can be solved by the games Item mall where you for real money can buy the ability to teleport to members in your party, to cites and npcs. But even without that its quite okay thanks to the auto move feature, sure it takes time but at least you can leave the computer when going for the longer runs.
More on this, WoW and probably Allods to come.

Mage Guide updated

The mage pre-raid gear guide is updated for 3.3

Ice Crown Citadel

I must say, i love this instance. After a few months of ToC it´s great to have something fresh to run… And there is trash, amazing!

The first room has plenty of trash and some traps that rogues can disarm or you can trigger them for more trash and more reputation with the new faction Ashen Verdict.

After slaughtering through the frist room of thrash you get to Lord Marrowgrave the first boss of the instance. He´s a big skeleton thingie and a fun fight, a bit hard on the healers pre nerf but a bit boring post nerf. After Marrograve there is only 4 trash packs to kill before the lady and they are all in the same room as her.  I enjoy that fight to. A bit different and lots of movement but not really anything hard.

Time to go up the elevator, kill som trash and GUNSHIP BATTLE! quick, easy and more or less a loot piniata, not FL style but if you have gotten this far it will go down. Nice and fun now since the bug was fixed.

Deathbringer Saurfang, last fight currently available and probably the hardest after the Lord Marrograve nerf.

Since moste of the stuff is so easy on normal there will be no further explanation of these fights untill heroic.

Update time!

With a new patch comming today it’s time for some updates.

New Pre raid gear guides will come and the old guides will be updated. With the new ICC 5-mans and triumph badges from heroics the new guides will focus on badge,ToC5 and ICC 5 gear.

Feral tanking Pre-Raid gear guide updated for 3.3

No Quel’delar for tanks?

The quest rewards for the Quel’delar quest have started showing up and guess what, no one-hand tanking weapon.

My first reaction to this was a big WTF! when i think more about it however i am starting to hope that there will be no tanking weapon, with plenty of bosses in ICC there probably will be 2-3 tanking weapons dropping in there anyways and with only 2 tanks in a raid group the chance of me getting a weapon from the new raid is highly likely, the chance of me getting a new nice DPS weapon how ever is not very high.

Now i understand that not everyone has a high chance of running ICC every week with their guild for a nice new tanking weapon so perhaps a tanking reward should be in place but for myself i rather hope not since that would remove my best option for a dps upgrade.

A nice caster dagger option should however be introduced for the Boomkins, elemental shamans, shadow priests and possibly resto druids and shamans who really don’t want a MP5 weapon.

Really slooow updates

I don’t seem to have much to post about these days, with 3.3 comming closer there will be more for me to be annoyed and angry about soon but right now i can’t really find the right thing to write about.

Money Making!

I spent a weekend playing with the AH, with access to a decent amount of money (~5K),3 crafting professions and up to date Auctioneer data making money was a lot easier than i first thought and after the first 5-10 auctions sold i was stuck. I would say that a good start is finding something everyone wants where the raw materials are cheaper then the final product. Every crafting profession have something like this. People will for example always need gems, enchants and other such things.

Now i can’t say that i did any exceptional AH work but my ~5K was at the end of the weekend ~10K, I had tons of fun doing it and never had to leave the major cities.

Druid feral (tank) pre-raid gear guide

The druid feral tank gear guide has now been published together with a small section of basic talent/glyph gem and rotation informaiton.

BoA reputation enchants

So i was looking around at MMO-Champion today and found this little gold nugget.

“Top-level helm and shoulder faction-related enchants are now available as Bind-on-Account items that do not require any faction to use once purchased (they still require the appropriate faction level to purchase).”

This is probably one of the smartest things i have seen in a long time. Grinding rep for enchants is annoying, now it might be a nessecery evil but doing it with every single alt you level up is just dreadful, im okay with grinding for rep if i need an item that a faction can offer but when i have to do the grind with every character just to get a enchant that has no alternatives except chosing Inscription as a profession it’s stupid.

I am tempted to say that more rep rewards should be BoA, perhaps crafting professions recipes or resist gear, the point of rep requirements to get those things is usually to slow down the speed at which people get them the first time, not to make playing an alt or switching main in to more of a hell than it already is.
